SKAM Child Safety Standards
Effective October 27, 2026. Operator: Foshchan Yevheniy, Chișinău, Moldova.
Prohibition
SKAM prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation in any form: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual extortion, trafficking and any conduct that sexually exploits a child or puts a child in danger. The prohibition applies to every user and every feature: profiles and profile photos, private messages, groups and calls.
SKAM is intended only for people aged 18 or over.
How to report
- In the app: open the chat, tap the person's name at the top and choose «Report». You can block the account there too.
- By email: skammessenger@gmail.com. Give the account's handle or ID and describe what happened.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police or emergency services right away.
Do not forward illegal images, even to report them: name the account and describe the material. Never send recovery phrases or passwords.
What we do
- We review every report, the most urgent first.
- We block offending accounts in SKAM and remove material under our control (names, profile photos, groups).
- We preserve the information available to us and pass it to the competent authorities as the law requires. We report confirmed CSAM to the police of the Republic of Moldova and to NCMEC (CyberTipline), and to the authorities of the victim's country when it is known.
- End-to-end encryption does not stop us from acting: we accept reports and screenshots from participants of a conversation and review public features.
